Cross-Cultural
Commumnication

Despite the help of translation and interpretation, people of diverse cultures, when working together, still face challenges of misunderstanding or not understanding at all. Researches show that the cross-cultural communication issues are often stemmed from psychological “noises” caused by cultural differences. That is, one may send /interpret messages to/from other cultures with their own cultural perception with no regard of how other cultures may read/understand them.
To bridge the gap, a range of cultural programs are designed to build cross-cultural understanding, awareness as well as communication skills. The courses encompass the everyday life in China, the philosophical and spiritual sides of Chinese people, communication style and the artistic aspects. They are great tools to understanding how Chinese minds work as well as seeing your own.

Chinese calligraphy, known as 书法 (shūfǎ), is one of the oldest and most revered forms of artistic expression in China. This course brings in rich aspects of Chinese calligraphy including its history, underlying philosophies, introduction of the tool kits, writing techniques, foundations of the Chinese characters and hands-on experience of this art. This is suitable for anyone who wishes to lay a great foundation of Chinese characters and explore the inner world in this exercise.
