Intermediate Level 1

At this level, learners will learn to communicate about their lives in greater detail and their relationships with people around them. On the linguistic side, more sophisticated structures and expressions are introduced. This program is suitable for people who have mastered basic language skills and are learning to express more complicated ideas about their lives.

Recorded short lectures
Preview and revise audios and learning resources for each session (about 45-90minutes work in total)
Exercises to practice the learning content

By the end of the program, learners will be able to:

Develop stronger cultural awareness and solid language skills
Speaking: Fluently express oneself when it comes to topics about oneself and one’s life and can manage conversations that involve somewhat complicated topics (e.g. seeing a doctor; renting a place)
Listening: Understand the main ideas in conversations or longer texts that are about familiar topics if they are articulated in a clear and slow manner
Reading and Writing: Read and write longer texts/conversations (pinyin and some characters if not all) that give detailed descriptions, arrangements and preferences
Writing: Write somewhat complicated texts on familiar topics that could express feelings and give details (most or all characters)
