Beginner Level 1

This program is for learners who have no prior knowledge of the language or anyone who wishes to refresh the foundation of the language. It includes the introduction to the sound and writing systems of Chinese and 8 topics that allow the learners to have initial conversational communication with Chinese speakers.

This short course includes:

  • 10 sessions (90 minutes long each) with one extra revision session 

  • Preview and revise audios and learning resources for each session (about 30-60minutes work in total)

  • Timely feedback and guidance are available 

  • Optional assessments 

  • Online mode for delivery/Face-to-face mode only when requested (extra cost may apply)

  • One-to-one sessions or group sessions (1- 3 people)

  • One -to-one cost $1720/ Group session cost $1376

By the end of the program, learners will be able to:

  • ​Know the foundation of the language & develop basic cultural awareness

  • Speaking: Introduce oneself (e.g. age, occupation, hobbies, etc.); ask and answer simple questions about familiar topics

  • Listening: Understand others’ brief introductions in simple words and structures in a slow and clear manner

  • Reading: Read short texts/conversations (pinyin or/and characters) of the familiar topics 

  • Writing: Use high-frequency words and expressions to introduce oneself and some of your life (Pinyin and some key characters)
